Index too small

I really am interested in using Heroku for my application hosting, but I am concerned in the use of Flying Sphinx within my application. I have millions of rows (9-10) that I will need to have indexed using Sphinx, and I am assuming that the indexes would be very large.

How much is 5gb for indexing ? Is it enough ?

    Hi Andrew

It really depends on how you have Sphinx configured, and how much data is indexed for each record. Flying Sphinx will let you go over your limit, though, and then warn you if you're over for a week. So feel free to give it a shot. I'd be surprised if you need more than 5gb - but again, it depends on several different variables.

I'd suggest giving it a spin and see how you go. Happy to discuss further, if you'd like.
